Update for March 15

Hello Friends,

Karyn asked that I post an update to the blog for her and let everyone know about the latest progress.

She is currently in her fifth week of radiation therapy and though it's easy for me to say, it sure has gone by quickly. Fortunately, there are only a few more treatments to go and soon we will be talking about it all in the past tense.

The days here are filled with many things. We have a team of physical and occupational therapists that come to the house for sessions throughout the week. There have been many small steps forward on a variety of levels however today there was a rather exceptional step forward. Literally. Today, with the help of her physical therapist Michelle, Karyn was able to keep her left leg locked and held her weight as she lifted her right knee up towards her chest. In the coming weeks I intend to report that she has taken her first real steps since those we took together on January 29th.

Karyn has also been seeing a Feldenkrais practitioner (Phyllis
Friedman) twice a week and has been getting a lot out of it.

Meals continue to get delivered here and we are so gracious for the assistance this provides...we really can't thank you all enough. There have been so many forms of support we have been receiving and we are humbled by how much everyone has done and continues to do to smooth out the edges of our new situation.

We will try to make more frequent posts as I realize this is the only source of information for some of you.

For now, just be grateful for what you have. It is more than you know.

~Julian
